In Sayulita Mexico (where our flagship store is located) we have a high season and a low season. High season is usually from about December to May. Many business close up shop for the summer because the weather is very hot and humid and tourism is low. But, there are some super cool things about summer in Sayulita which is starting to draw in the more savvy, rugged and adventurous traveler. In the summer the rains are heavy and many of our streets turn to rivers. The rains come once or twice a day and last for a few hours. Sometimes the lightening and thunder that accompany the storms is so loud that it sounds like your roof is going to split open. If the rains start and you are in town, you may get trapped for a bit unless you are in the mood to get muddy and wet. This is a fun time for the locals to get caught up and socialize. I will never forget one local told me many years back that there is so much moisture and life in the air during this time, that you can actually watch a plant grow and open up right before your eyes.
