If you are like me, you fill up every single minute of every day. If you finish your list, you add more onto it. There is always something that can be done! One thing I truly love about living in Mexico is the slower pace. It is totally common to see people sitting on the porch sipping a coca cola and just visiting. People still walk everywhere in the little pueblo where I live. They ride bikes or horses into town. I have noticed that in Mexico people LOVE babies! I have a 6 month old and today at Home Depot the check-out girl (right in the middle of a big rush) took the baby from my arms and played with him for a minute. It didn’t matter that there were several people in line waiting. Even the men and the boys… and children, especially the children love babies. All the kids in my neighborhood rub my little Paul’s head when we walk by (I tell them it’s good luck of course because he’s bald and the only white baby on our street). There is something so tender about a big strong man melting at the sight of a baby. Sometimes it’s hard to slow down… even just to slow your mind down… but try!! Life is so very beautiful when you take time to notice all the little details. Every single bath that I start to rush through… I try to remember to sit a little longer and let my little Paul play with the bubbles. However you celebrate your Valentine’s Day I hope you take the time to smell the roses!!
